MANGALDAN, Pangasinan — One person died and six others were injured when a motorcycle and a motorized tricycle collided at 4:10 p.m. on Holy Thursday along the national road in Barangay Buenlag, Mangaldan, Pangasinan.
The lone fatality was identified as Pedrito Ramos, 35, of Ydia St. in Barangay Guilig, Mangaldan, and driver of a Honda 100 motorcycle colored black with no plate number which was speeding at a fast clip to the north direction.
Witnesses said Ramos’ motorcycle first overtook a sports utility vehicle (SUV) in front before colliding with the motorized tricycle that was coming from the opposite direction and driven by Rommel Navarro, 20, with five passengers on board.
The passengers were identified as John Rey Aquino, 9, a Grade IV pupil of Gueguesangen, Sta. Barbara; Remedios Navarro, 74, Josephine Navarro, 42, both of San Juan, San Jacinto town; Marlita Serafica, 44, and Rommel Serafica, 12, a Grade VI pupil, both residents of Sta. Maria, Bulacan.
Ramos died on arrival at the Region 1 Medical Center (R1MC) in Dagupan City where all the others injured were brought for treatment. PNA/northboundasia.com
