MANGALDAN, Pangasinan — Another suspected drug pusher was killed in an armed encounter with intelligence operatives of the Mangaldan police following a buy-bust operation at the house he was renting in Brgy Salaan, Mangaldan at about 5:30 p.m. Friday.
The dead was identified as Marco Castillo, alias “Makoy”, 39, a resident of Bonifacio St. Poblacion, Lingayen, Pangasinan, the Top 2 in the priority list of the Lingayen Police Station..
A police report stated that Castillo grabbed the firearm of the arresting police personnel who was conducting the buy-bust operation and was shot by the other operatives.
Castillo died while on the way to Region 1 Medical Center in Dagupan City.
Confiscated from the suspect were seven sachets of suspected shabu, weighing more or less 30 grams; drug paraphernalia; one improvised M16 pistol; four pieces of aluminum foil strip; four glass tooters; one improvised aluminum tooter; one used aluminum foil; one lighter; one black diary; and one cellphone.
Also arrested during the operation were Elde Sefuentes Salva, 37, of Mirama A-1, Poblacion, Marihatag, Surigao del Sur; Ariel Muyalde Bautista, 28, of Brgy Amansabina, Mangaldan, Pangasinan; Vanessa Astroga Redillas, 26, of Butuan City, Agusan del Norte; Jose Debajo Agudo, 19 , of Butuan City, Agusan del Norte; and AlijaDebajo Agudo, 36 years old, single, jobless and a a resident of Butuan City, Agusan del Norte.
The five were found in possession of drug paraphernalia inside the house rented by Castillo.
Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) processed the crime scene. Investigation is ongoing.
Castillo is so far the ninth drug pusher who died in encounters with lawmen since the anti-drug war was intensified by lawmen.
