BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya — Nueva Vizcaya’s Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (PDRRMC) has been bracing for Tropical Storm Karen.
PDRRMC officer Evaliza Agamata said the provincial health office has already alerted the district hospitals to ready their ambulances, doctors and nurses. Rescue teams are on standby.
The provincial social welfare office has likewise assured that there is an adequate supply of relief goods ready for distribution in case there is a need to do so.
Agamata advised residents in low-lying and landslide-prone areas to stay alert and be prepared for preemptive evacuations.
Coordination has already been made with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC), Philippine National Police (PNP), Philippine Army (PA) and private organizations for the implementation of precautionary measures, she added. PNA – northboundasia.com
