BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya — The provincial government here Tuesday gave livelihood assistance to at least 148 families in the province.
Governor Carlos Padilla and his wife Ruth personally handed the checks to the beneficiaries at the provincial capitol in this town.
The beneficiaries were given PHP10,000 each through the “Search for Idol Kong Pamilya” program of the provincial government, designed to uplift the living conditions of poor but ideal families in the province.
“ Use your assistance according to the set terms and conditions and you will improve your economic life. Once you have succeeded, we will provide more for you,” Padilla said.
The cash assistance beneficiaries came from the towns of Kayapa, Aritao, Sta. Fe, Solano, Kasibu, Bagabag, Alfonso Castaneda, Ambaguio, Quezon , Bayombong, Bambang, Villaverde, Diadi, Dupax del Norte and Dupax del Sur.
Lita Tabudlo, provincial social welfare and development officer said the beneficiaries passed the search criteria which prohibits their engagement in various vices, existence of malnutrition among their children, out of school youths(OSYs), any form of violence and financial delinquencies.
The other criteria encourages the families involvement in schools, community activities and promote values of spirituality.
“Failure to comply and sustain these criteria will disqualify the beneficiaries to receive additional incentives and assistance from the provincial government,” Tabudlo said.
Started in 2014, the program has already benefited more than 300 families from the 275 barangays of the province.
Tabudlo said the beneficiaries are regularly monitored for their compliance on the criteria and their economic gains from the assistance given by the provincial government. PNA-northboundasia.com
