BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya — The provincial government here is expected to receive close to PHP700 million as its funding for 2017’s implementation of the national government’s Konkreto at Ayos na Lansangan ang Daan tungo sa Pangkalahatang Kaunlaran (KALSADA) program.
Governor Ruth Padilla said she was already informed by Department of Budget and Management (DBM) and Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) secretaries Florencio Abad and Mel Senen Sarmiento, respectively, regarding the funding allocation which will be released directly to the province.
“This is their response to our recent dialogue of the League of Provinces of the Philippines 7th General Assembly on the KALSADA program,” Padilla said.
The funding allocation for the province is part of the PHP39-billion KALSADA Program budget which was included in the proposed National Expenditure Program (NEP) for 2017 to be endorsed to congress for inclusion in the General Appropriations Act(GAA).
“This is much more higher than the PHP6.5 billion KALSADA Program fund for this year,” Padilla said.
In a letter, Abad and Sarmiento also praised Padilla for helping to institutionalize governance reforms through enhancement of local government systems, processes and practices in local road management and public fiscal management. PNA/northboundasia.com
