BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya — Local legislators here are pushing for the provision of Economic Relief Assistance(ERA) to provincial local government workers and officials that would cushion the impact of recent typhoons and the El Nino phenomenon.
Vice Governor Lambert Galima,Jr. said they have already asked Governor Carlos Padilla to consider the grant of ERA to all officials and employees, including those covered by Contract of Service (COS), of the provincial government as a form of relief and rehabilitation assistance following the adverse impact of El Niño and the recent “Karen” and “Lawin” typhoons.
“Most of the workers in the local government are engaged in other sources of income especially in farm and livestock production and livelihood enterprises to augment their meager salaries,” Galima said.
He said granting of the ERA will not affect the province’s track to achieve all its social and development agenda and at the same time, will not prejudice the delivery of basic services and priority projects intended for the people of Nueva Vizcaya. PNA-northboundasia.com
