MANILA — A magnitude 5.7 earthquake struck the province of Pangasinan and was also felt in Metro Manila early Sunday morning, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
In its bulletin, the agency said the tremor occurred at 3:40 a.m. with its epicenter traced at 58 kilometers northwest of Bolinao, Pangasinan, where it was felt at Intensity 4.
Phivolcs said Dagupan City felt the tremor at Intensity 3, while Intensity 2 was recorded in Baguio City; San Clemente, Tarlac; Angeles and Mabalacat City, Pampanga; and Intensity 1 in the cities of Manila, Muntinlupa and Makati.
The tremor, which was tectonic in origin, had a depth of 43 kilometers.
Philvocs said there was no casualty or damage reported from the temblor but aftershocks were expected. PNA
