BAGUIO CITY –- Three hours after the unscheduled power interruption in Benguet and the whole of the city, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) was able to restore power.
Melma Batario, NGCP Northern Luzon corporate communications officer, in a text message to the PNA, said NGCP was able to restore transmission service in parts of Benguet Electric Cooperative (BENECO) at 4:16 p.m. after re-energizing the La Trinidad-Sablan 69kv line.
She added that the NGCP and BENECO continued to implement corrective works at the La Trinidad-Lamut 69kv line, which connects most parts of Baguio City.
A big part of Benguet province and the whole of Baguio experienced the unscheduled power interruption at 2:52 p.m.
Earlier, Batario said that the problem was identified at the 69 kilovolt (KV) line and at the La Trinidad-Sablan 69 KV line, affecting the subscribers of the Benguet Electric Cooperative (BENECO).
