TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines — The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) assured that there will be no power shortage in Northern Luzon during the May 9 national and local elections, assuring Thursday that its contingency plans for the elections are in place.
The NGCP made the statement during a briefing at the Hotel Roma here with theme: “Bantayan Natin and mga Linya para sa Matagumpay na Halalan.”
Lilibeth Gaydowen, Northern Luzon corporate communication and public affairs officer, said their facilities and flow of power are stable before and after the May 9 elections.
“We are more than efficient than before. We will have no problem because we have a lot of power capacity,” Gaydowen added.
NGCP technical personnel are about to complete their regular inspection, repair and replacement of their facilities in Northern Luzon to ensure the stable flow of power during and after the elections, she said.
She also praised the local power cooperatives in the Luzon grid for their continuous improvement and rehabilitation of their facilities in their area of coverage. PNA/northboundasia.com
