NGCP ANNOUNCES POWER SHUTDOWN IN FEW PANGASINAN TOWNS ON JAN. 6

DAGUPAN CITY — The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has announced power shutdown in some of its facilities in some towns and one city of Pangasinan from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, January 6.

The shutdown will affect consumers of Pangasinan Electric Cooperative III (Panelco III) in the towns of San Manuel, Binalonan, Pozorrubio, Laoac, Mapandan and parts of Urdaneta City, and Mangaldan town which is covered by Central Pangasinan Electric Cooperative (Cenpelco).

Also affected by the power shutdown are the towns of San Jacinto, Manaoag and part of San Fabian being serviced by the San Jacinto substation of the Dagupan Electric Corporation (Decorp).

Lilibeth Goydowen, NGCP’s North Luzon Corp. communications and public affairs officer, said the power shutdown of NGCP facilities in these areas is intended to accommodate the request of the contractor of the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway; to relocate selected transmission line structures affected by the construction of TPLEX; Annual preventive maintenance and testing of 5MVA Power Transformer at Mangaldan Load-end Substation; andReplacement of selected wood poles along the San Manuel-Sapang 69kV line segment.

Goydowen said normal operations will immediately resume after work completion.

NGCP customers and the general public are advised to take the necessary preparations and precautions for this scheduled interruption. PNA/northboundasia.com
