NGCP: 72 toppled poles, 96 leaning poles in Tuguegarao City to be restored by Oct. 29

TUGUEGARAO CITY — The National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) here has reported 72 toppled electrical poles and 96 leaning poles along the Tuguegarao-Cabagan, Tuguegarao-Tabuk and Tuguegarao-Magapit-Camalaniugan-Sta.Ana 69-kV lines, following aerial inspections made Friday.

The NGCP said the poles, damaged during the onslaught of Typhoon Lawin, have affected Isabela Electric Cooperative II (ISELCO II’s) Cabagan and the entire franchise areas of Kalinga Electric Cooperative (KAELCO), Cagayan Electric Cooperative I (CAGELCO I) and Cagayan Electric Cooperative II (CAGELCO II).

Lilibeth Gaydowen, Northern Luzon corporate communications and public affairs officer, said they aim to restore the affected transmission lines by Saturday (Oct. 29).

Lines with lesser damage may be re-energized earlier, she said, noting that additional information on damage are expected to come in after inspectors go on foot in hard-to-reach areas. PNA-northboundasia.com
