NFA-Cagayan starts buying palay, corn in far-flung villages

TUGUEGARAO CITY — The National Food Authority (NFA) – Cagayan has started buying palay and corn products in far-flung barangays or villages of the province.

NFA-Cagayan Provincial Manager Emmanuel Villanueva said Monday the move aims to help farmers in remote areas, particularly those who own small farms of one hectare and below.

Villanueva said the NFA’s buying price of dried palay is P17.00 per kilo while for dried yellow corn, it’s P12.30 per kilo and P13.00 per kilo for dried white corn.

He also said the buying stations of NFA are at the Centro, Gonzaga, Cagayan; Bungubung Warehouse in Lal-lo, Cagayan and Carig Grains Center Tuguegarao City. PNA-northboundasia.com
