ROSALES, Pangasinan — A man newly identified by the police as an illegal drug pusher was shot dead by unidentified suspects at about 5:45 p.m. Saturday in Barangay Station District, Rosales town.
The fatality was identified as Joey Alipio, 27, alias Jr. Sanchez, 27, a pedicab driver and a resident of Rosales. He was driving his pedicab along a barangay road heading to the south direction when unidentified suspects tailed him on board a motorcycle and shot him.
A woman witness said the suspects, wearing skull guard helmets and jackets, fled to unknown direction. First responders brought the victim to the Rosales Infirmary but he was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician.
Meanwhile, a man was shot dead by unidentified armed men at about 7:40 p.m. Saturday in front of a fish hatchery in Sitio Pagkakaisa, Bonuan Gueset, Dagupan City, according to the police.
The victim, Earl Ramos, 46, of Paras Street in Barangay Bonuan Gueset, and his son Jeffrey, 15, a Grade 8 student, was about to leave from a house where they attended a wake when five armed men on board two motorcycles arrived and shot the elder Ramos at close range in the head and back. His son was unscathed.
Eight fired cartridges and four deformed slugs of still unknown caliber of firearms were recovered by investigators from the crime scene.
Motive for the slaying is still unknown but the police are checking whether it is also due to illegal drugs. PNA-northboundasia.com
