Motorcycle mishaps claim 3 persons in Cordillera

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet — Three persons died in separate motorcycle accidents in different parts of the Cordillera region in a span of two days.

Police Regional Office – Cordillera (PROCOR) Director Chief Supt. Edward Carranza identified the victims as Randy Leano Marzan, 27, single, a cook and resident of Camp 1, Tuba this province; John Mark Dominong Buhulon, 17, of Caba, Lagawe, Ifugao; and Lorenzo Serquiña Bibat, 58, married, a farmer and resident of San Juan, Alfonso Lista, Ifugao.

Tuba police said Marzan was driving his Rusi motorcycle without a helmet and was traversing Camp 1, Kennon Road Tuba, Benguet on Thursday when he lost control of the vehicle and rammed against a concrete wall on the side of the road. He was thrown off his motorcycle and died.

On the same day, Buhulon was driving a Kawasaki Fury 125 en route to Poblacion, Lagawe when he lost control of the motorcycle and crashed into a riprap made of stones. He sustained multiple wounds and was brought by responding policemen to the IGH Clinic in Natuwolan, Cudog, Lagawe where he died of traumatic brain injury.

Just the day before in Ifugao, Bibat was driving his Honda TMX 155 when he collided with a Honda Mobillo SUV driven by one Romeo Vinoya Sr., 72, along the highway of San Juan, Alfonso Lista. Bibat was rushed by bystanders to the Potia District Hospital, but he died of head injuries. Vinoya and his passengers, meanwhile, were unharmed.
