MONEY SHOP CASHIER KILLS SELF?

SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union – A 32-year-old cashier of a money changer shop allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with a 9 mm. pistol inside Paz Money Changer located at the dry market shopping mall in Barangay 3 here Wednesday morning.

Superintendent Julius C. Suriben, city police chief, identified the fatality as Antonino C. Nuesca, 32, a resident of Pila Luna, La Union. He said that Nuesca’s bloodied body was found sprawled on the floor of the shop.

Quoting police investigators, Suriben said that the pistol used by Nuesca was discovered inside an open drawer of a table and that the victim managed to put the gun back after he allegedly killed himself.

Nuesca was rushed to the Lorma Medical Center here but was pronounced dead- on- arrival by an attending physician.

Ronnie Bautista, a neighboring shop owner, said he did not hear any sound of a gun being fired but, he said, he heard a commotion inside the money shop.

Police investigators did not say whether cash money was missing in the money shop or was ransacked, but said they were still trying to establish if there was foul play in the shooting death of Nuesca. ERWIN G. BELEO / northboundasia.com
