LUNA, La Union – The tandem of Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago and Sen. Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr, for president and vice president, respectively, for the 2016 elections is final.
“Love team na, love team na talaga. Of course tandem na. No more separation because there is no divorce in the Philippines,” Marcos said when asked by reporters here if his tandem with Miriam was already confirmed.
Marcos said his teaming up with Miriam is a ‘loose coalition’ – an ideological tandem because of their similarities in pursuing various local and national issues.
“We still have to define it (loose coalition). There’s a lot of new (gimmicks) in this election. Ideological because we (Miriam) are often similar (on views and opinions) in most issues. I’ve always been a fan of Sen. Miriam that’s why it’s a great opportunity to be in her ticket,” Bongbong said.
Bongbong also said that he and Meriam are still in the process of arranging campaign strategies if who and how the coordination of their groups would be done.
Marcos was here Thursday morning to visit the tomb of PO3 Omar Nacionales, one of the slain 44 Special Action Force who hailed from Marcos town in Ilocos Norte but grew up with his relatives at Barangay Sto. Domingo Sur here.
Marcos also said that they are still in the process of formalizing their senatorial line up. JUN ELIAS/NorthboundPH
