Manila Mayor Estrada hospitalized at Cardinal Santos

MANILA — Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada was hospitalized at the Cardinal Santos Hospital on Wednesday due to pneumonia, his son, Senator JV Estrada said Friday.

Although the 79-year-old former president is already all right, he has not yet been allowed to go home, said a close friend of his, who declined to be identified.

Pneumonia is an inflammation of the air spaces in the lungs, due to an infection. Its symptoms include fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, and fatigue.

Estrada last week had plasters on both hands and complained of pain when he lifted a hand at the Bulwagang Antonio Villegas.
