SAN CARLOS CITY — The police in Pangasinan have launched a province-wide manhunt against two-motorcycle-riding armed men who shot and killed a school principal for a still unknown reason along the highway in Sitio Silapan, Barangay Bolingit, San Carlos City.
The victim in the incident that happened at 10:00 a.m. of March 7 was Maximo Jimenez, 64, principal of the San Vicente Elementary School in Bayambang and resident of Bongato East in Bayambang, Pangasinan.
Jimenez was on board his own motorcycle when shot by the unidentified suspects using a handgun. He sustained gunshot wounds in the back and upper arms.
Responding policemen rushed him to the adjacent Pangasinan Provincial Hospital in Bolingit, San Carlos City where he was declared dead on arrival.
Investigation showed that Jimenez was shot several times by the two still undetermined suspects on board a motorcycle who tailed him while he was driving his own Honda 155 TMX motorcycle with plate No. AR 3222.
At that time, Jimenez was on his way to Lingayen to submit submit reports to the Department of Education division office.
Three fired shells of Caliber 45 pistol bullets were recovered by Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) from the crime scene.
The suspects fled to an unknown direction after the incident.
