MAN INJURED BY FIRECRACKER IN APAYAO

PUDTOL, Apayao — Except for a lone victim of firecracker injury in the town, local residents welcomed 2016 through home parties and gatherings with their families and friends.

Police identified the victim as Antonio De Ocampo Tenorio, 59, married, and a resident of Cabatacan village, this town.

At 11:15 p.m. on Thursday, Tenorio was injured by a sudden explosion of firecrackers.

Report said the 59-year-old jeepney driver lighted one piece of baby rocket. However, the said firecracker accidentally ignited three pieces of baby rockets held by the victim in his left hand which later exploded.

The victim sustained blast burns and slight abrasions on his hand particularly between his index finger and thumb. He was rushed to the nearby Amma Jadsac District Hospital.

Earlier, the Pudtol PNP led by Officer-in-charge Police Senior Inspector Manuel Canipas Jr. has intensified their anti-firecracker campaign through information dissemination which urges the public to refrain from buying illegal firecrackers. PNA/northboundasia.com
