Man drowns in La Union

NAGUILIAN, La Union -— A man drowned while swimming in a river in Barangay Baraoas Sur here late Sunday afternoon while celebrating Easter, according to a police report.

The victim was identified as Rolly Abenoja, 43 years old, of Baraoas Sur.

Other residents who also bathed in the same river reported to the police that they noticed the victim was missing.

A few hours later, he was found floating in the river. The victim was rushed to the Naguilian District Hospital here and declared dead on arrival.

Meanwhile, two beach goers were rescued from drowning along the surfing area at Urbiztondo in San Juan, La Union.

Rescued were Juan Miguel Dinopra, 15, and Raymond Cabugao, 50, both residents of Mangaldan, Pangasinan.

Miguel and Raymond were rushed to a hospital in San Fernando City and declared in good condition. Vicente Alhambra, Jr./Northbound Philippines News
