COTABATO CITY — A magnitude 3.7 quake hits Cotabato City and its environs Saturday afternoon hours after a strong earthquake hit Surigao provinces, the state volcanology office said.
The tremor, which Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said was tectonic in origin, came at 5:04 p.m. and traced 20 kilometers east of Cotabato City.
No damages to property and nobody was hurt as of posting, Phivolcs said.
The mild quake came hours after a powerful earthquake hit Surigao del Norte and Surigao City that left six dead and 120 others injured.
Phivolcs recorded at least 35 aftershocks following the 10:30 p.m. worst quake to hit northeastern Mindanao since 1800. Edwin Fernandez/PNA-northboundasia.com
