LABORER HIT BY STRAY BULLET

BAYAMBANG, Pangasinan — A man was wounded when he was hit by stray bullet that fell from the roof top of a house in Barangay Telbang here at past 12:00 noon of Dec. 24, possibly fired by the suspect as a form of revelry on Christmas eve.

The victim Reynaldo Carpio, 34, was rushed to the Bayambang District Hospital (BDH) before he was transferred to the Region 1 Medical Center in Dagupan City with a bullet wound in his left thigh.

Investigation showed Carpio, a laborer, was sitting on a bamboo chair and having a drinking spree with his brothers-in-law Marcelo Flores, 48, and Maximo Flores in Marcelo’s house when he was hit by stray bullet that allegedly fell from the rooftop.

Both Marcelo and Maximo Flores told the police they did not hear any gunshot from nearby when they were having a drinking spray.

Probers of the Bayambang Police Station conducted ocular inspection of Marcelo’s house but could not find the trajectory of the bullet that hit Carpio as the roof top of the house is made up of nipa and coconut leaves shingles. PNA/northboundasia.com
