La Union drug surrenderer killed by riding-in-tandem assailants

CAMP DIEGO SILANG, La Union – A drug surrenderer and a high-value target in the on-going illegal drugs trade campaign was killed by riding-in-tandem assailants in front of his house along a street last March 27 in Barangay Central East No. 2, Bangar town.
 
Chief Inspector Silverio Ordinado, Jr., La Union police information officer, identified the victim as Rosaldo Ramos, 43, a resident of the said village. Ramos, he said, came out of his home at about eight o’clock at night and was seated on a stool when his killers riding on a motorbike came and shot him several times.
 
Ramos was taken by neighbors to the Bangar Rural Health Unit but was declared-dead-on- arrival by attending physician, Dr. Lalaine Bello.
 
Personnel of Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) recovered several bullets at the victim’s body allegedly fired from a 45-caliber pistol including cartridge cases from the crime scene.
 
Further investigation of the incident is still being conducted, according to Ordinario. Erwin Beleo/Northbound Philippines News
