Isabela town opens 2017 Bangkarera Festival

DELFIN ALBANO, Isabela — A Northern Isabela town will once again be conducting this year its annual Bangkarera Festival aimed at promoting the rich culture of the town.

The bangkarera festival is scheduled this year on March 14-17, 2017 with various activities lined-up.

Ruben Dumlao, Sangguniang Bayan Secretary and Cultural Officer – designate, said each year’s festival highlight is the conduct of Bangkarera at the Cagayan River with fishermen and bangka enthusiasts from the town trying to excel in boat race.

Dumlao said the Bangkarera is already part of the festival as a form of paving the preservation of the rich historical and cultural heritage of the people of Delfin Albano.

He said this year’s boat year already opened to fellow Isabelinos who want to try their skills and endurance in manipulating boats unlike last year and in previous years that it is only exclusive to Delfin Albano residents.

“This year, we are making the annual race an invitational event thereby opening it to our fellow Isabelinos,” Dumlao said.

He said the local government unit of Delfin Albano will continue with its Bangkarera Festival as it is already part of the history and culture of the town. PNA-northboundasia.com
