SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union – City Mayor Hermenegildo “Dong” Gualberto has urged tricycle drivers to be courteous and respectful to their passengers even as he reminded them of their rights and responsibilities as ambassadors of goodwill to local tourists and non-residents.
In a gathering Monday at the Ortega Gym here of 1,900 tricycle drivers including operators, Gualberto told his audience, “Datayo koma ti agbalin nga modelo ti kinasingpet, kinatulnog, kina-respeto” (Let us be role models of kindness, obedience, respect.)
He also reminded the tricycle drivers to be the first ones to follow traffic rules and regulations.

” If you charge the right amount, I know that you will feel happier when you bring the money home because it comes from honest and hard work,” he said.
During the event, the City Government also honored 559 tricycle drivers for their honesty and service by giving them P1,000 cash each. They had returned items left by passengers inside their vehicles.
