CAMP DIEGO SILANG, La Union – A Sangguniang Kabataan(Youth Council ) councilor, and a 39-year old drug suspect were nabbed by authorities in separate buy-bust operations in the towns of Sudipen and Aringay, this province Friday.
The SB councilor, an 18-year-old Grade 11 pupil, was identified as Hernan Dusayen, a resident of the village of Apaya, Alilem, Ilocos Sur, and studying in Sudipen Vocational High School.
Dusayen was arrested by anti-narcotic agents, one of whom posed as a buyer. Seized from him were 3 sachets allegedly containing banned marijuana and P300 buy-bust money.
Earlier, the Sudipen police station received reports that the suspect was selling illegal drugs in the area, and coordinated with the regional office of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency for the arrest of Dusayen.
In Aringay, the 39-year-old suspect was identified as Serafin Dacanay, who was arrested in Barangay San Benito Norte, this town.
Found in his possession was a transparent plastic sachet allegedly containing shabu and P500 buy-bust money.
Dusayen and Dacanay are now in the custody of respective police stations pending the filing of court charges against them for violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Erwin Beleo/NPN-northboundasia.com
