Ilocos Village Chair Shot Dead

CAMP DIEGO SILANG, La Union – The chairman of Barangay Leones West in Tubao town was shot dead while his live-in partner suffered injury when they were attacked in their home by unidentified suspects Thursday night.
Chief Inspector Silverio Ordinado Jr, La Union police information officer, identified the victim as Jessie Marzan, alleged number one illegal drug personality in the province and a high value target of the police’s campaign against illegal drugs.
The victim sustained several gunshot wounds on his body and was declared dead on the spot. Police recovered at the crime scene six empty shells of caliber 45.
Investigation showed that Marzan was outside their house when the assailants arrived and started shooting him. The victim ran toward their sari-sari store but the killers followed and shot him also hitting his live-in partner Myrna De Leon in the stomach. The partner survived and was brought for treatment at a nearby hospital.
Police said the suspects fled on-board two black motorcycles.
