LAOAG CITY, Ilocos Norte — A Christmas village, featuring a nativity scene of statues in Filipiniana attire, along with wild animals and a giant Christmas tree make up this year’s centerpiece of the Capitol theme park.
Dedicated to all children who are most excited during this season, Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos and Laoag City Mayor Chevylle Fariñas along with other provincial and city officials led the simultaneous Christmas lighting ceremony in front of the Capitol and at the Laoag City hall on December 9 evening.
As Christmas is quite special for children, the provincial government also provided a playing ground for children and an open ground for selfie in front of the Capitol filled with glittering lights.
At the Laoag City hall, a glimmering Holiday tree of giant flowers and butterflies, along with colorful lanterns have been attracting a sea of people to visit at night.
The well-lit Aurora Park is also becoming a favorite hangout of family and friends, spending quality time together.
After the lights up, the world-class Samiweng choir group also entertained the crowd with their angelic voices as they gave soulful renditions of various Christmas medleys.PNA
