LAOAG CITY — The Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte has lauded at least 20 police personnel assigned in various police stations here for their outstanding achievement in anti-illegal drugs campaign.


In her letter of commendation address separately to the concerned police personnel, Governor Imee Marcos personally handed it to them on Monday afternoon at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Session Hall.


As the governor personally expressed her congratulations to the outstanding police personnel, she said the province takes pride and honor for the successful operation of the PNP in support of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency’s mandate to crack down illegal drugs syndicate.


From October 23-25, 2015, the Ilocos Norte Police Provincial Office led by Provincial Director Albert Ocon reported the arrest of 36 persons and confiscation of more than 49 grams of shabbu and 0.20743 grams of marijuana.


“Such accomplishment manifest your sense of responsibility and dedication to your mandated tasks thereby supporting the realization of the PNP vision: “Highly capable, effective and credible police service by 2030,” said Marcos.


For his part, Provincial Director Ocon expressed gratitude to the administration of Governor Marcos for allocating Php 5 million in support of the PNP operation to curve down criminalities here.


The Php 5 million allocation fund for the PNP operation is now a regular line item in the PGIN budget.
