LAOAG CITY -— Police personnel at the Ilocos Norte Crime Laboratory underwent a surprise drug test on Monday.
Police Inspector Amiely Ann Navarro, Forensic Chemist of the Ilocos Norte crime lab, said Tuesday the drug testing activity came as a surprise. All police personnel on duty on Labor Day were asked to have their urine tested for illicit drugs.
Fortunately, all those who subjected themselves for drug testing yielded negative result.
As per order by the Napolcom Memo Circular No. 99-008, all PNP personnel are required to undergo drug test.
This is part of the PNP’s campaign to remove all scalawags from the police service.
Anyone found positive for using illegal drugs will be charged administratively and dismissed from the service.
According to Navarro, a series of surprise drug testing activities within the police ranks in the province will be conducted anytime. Leilanie Adriano/PNA-northboundasia.com
