VINTAR, Ilocos Norte — At least 800 land titles were distributed to some 360 beneficiaries on Monday in time for the celebration of People’s Day here.
Held at the Vintar auditorium, Atty. Rex Vincent Riberal of the Land Registration Authority said the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte in collaboration with the LRA and Department of Environment and Natural Resources facilitated the processing and releasing of Certificate of Land Ownership Award (CLOA) to its rightful owners.
Renato Carsola, 61, resident of Barangay Mabanbanag, Vintar town, said he is grateful for the free land title program under the administration of Governor Ma. Imelda Josefa “Imee” Marcos which enabled him to secure a small parcel of land he acquired a decade ago.
Carsola said he feels more secured now that he have finally acquired the title of his property.
The “Titulo a Natalged: Sagut ni Ilokano” land titling program was launched in 2011 as it primarily aims to resolve issues of land ownership in the province.
Through the REGALA (Revenue Generation and Land Administration Reforms) project and ‘Handog Titulo (Free land titling) program of the provincial government, several local government units now have a systematic land information and efficient transactions on real properties.
