VIGAN CITY–A suspected local drug group member and a drug pusher were arrested in separate incidents by combined operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Philippine Army (PA) during buy-bust operations in Ilocos Sur.
PDEA Director General Isidro S. Lapeña identified the local drug suspect as Michael Serna y Talania, 33, a resident of Bissang, Baclig, Cabugao town and a member of Casin Drug Group operating in the province.
Serna was arrested last October 3 in an entrapment operation in Barangay Pug-os in Cabugao in Barangay Pug-os, Cabugao, Ilocos Sur.
Confiscated from Serna were five plastic sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, weighing more or less 0.5 gram, with an estimated street value of P1,500.
Five hours earlier, the same operating unit, in collaboration with the Sta. Maria Police Station, arrested Jieson Gaoat y Ramos, 38, a tricycle driver, after selling one plastic sachet of suspected shabu, weighing approximately 0.02 gram, to a poseur-buyer in Barangay Poblacion, Sta. Maria town.
Cases for violation of RA 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2202 will be filed in court against Serna and Gaoat. PDEA ROI-northboundasia.com
