High-value drug target shot dead, 2 brothers on watchlist arrested

SAN JACINTO, Pangasinan — A high-value target on drug was killed by unidentified suspects in Barangay Capaoay here at 5 p.m. Friday, of Nov. 25 while two brothers in the same town were arrested one after the other in connection with their involvement in illegal drugs.

The San Jacinto Police identified the victim as Roland Canlas Jr., 28, who was shot dead by a gunman wearing a bonnet and sunglasses while he was having a snack inside a restaurant in Barangay Capaoay.

Police said the suspect entered at the back portion of the restaurant then with a drawn gun, approached the victim in his table and shot him point blank in different parts of his body.

He then walked out of the restaurant casually as if nothing happened and boarded a motorcycle parked along the national highway driven by another person then sped towards the south direction.

The victim was rushed to the Region 1 Medical Center in Dagupan City where he died on arrival.

Meanwhile, two brothers both of whom are involved in illegal drugs, were arrested in Barangay San Jose and Capaoay, San Jacinto at 5:00 a.m. and 5:05 a.m., respectively.

The suspects were identified as Ray Arambulo, alias “Tiki,” and his brother Freddie Arambulo .

Lawmen seized nine sachets of suspected shabu, placed inside a cigarette pack, from Tiki’s house while 11 sachets of suspected shabu were found at Freddie’s house. Leonardo Micua/PNAnorthboundasia.com
