Gov’t employee yields illegal drugs worth Php 200,000

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines – A government employee yielded an illegal drug Shabu (Methamphetamine Hydrochloride), with a street value of Php 200,000, during a buy bust in Bukidnon, authorities reported Saturday.

Wilkins Villanueva, Regional Director of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Northern Mindanao, identified the suspect as Romeo L. Flores of Poblacion Malaybalay City, Bukidnon.

Villanueva said that the suspect yielded about 40 grams of the illegal drug “Shabu” during a buy-bust operation Friday morning.

He said that the illegal drug was contained in seven sachets of heat sealed plastics with an estimated street value of Php 200,000.

During the initial investigation, the suspect claimed to be currently employed as an Administrative Assistant II with the Department of Education (DepEd) in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon, Villanueva said.

Aside from the seizure of the illegal drugs, the PDEA operatives also seized from the suspect one unit Kawasaki KLX 150L (green) with no plate number, the Php 500 buy-bust money, and assorted drug paraphernalia.

Villanueva said that the suspect was temporarily detained at PDEA 10’s Jail Facility here for booking and documentation pending the filing of charges with violation of RA 9165, or the Comprehensive Anti-illegal Drug Law against the suspect. PNA/northboundasia.com
