Gov’t addressing problems of MRT –Palace

MANILA — Malacanang assured Friday that the government is continuously addressing the problems besetting the Mass Rail Transit (MRT) system in a bid to provide convenience to commuters.

“We are in the process of procuring ‘yung additional coaches para mas maging maganda ang serbisyo po doon sa MRT,” said Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte in a Palace press briefing.

Valte said the MRT III is undergoing rail replacement works as part of government’s effort to enhance safety of the system.

“The (MRT) administrator makes sure that safety is paramount so ‘yon po ‘yung isa nating binabantayan,” she said.

The Palace official further said the government is also working to provide enhanced services at all MRT stations including escalator, elevator and comfort rooms. Leslie D. Venzon/PNA
