GOVERNMENT AGENTS NET 5 SUSPECTS, GUNS, DRUGS

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY -– Government agents arrested five suspects, seized drugs, guns and ammunitions during a raid here Monday evening, the regional drug enforcement agency said Tuesday.

Wilkins Villanueva, head of the regional Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), said that the government agents were serving a warrant of arrest when the suspects reportedly tried to intervene.

Villanueva said that a certain Rendon M. Sarita, the object of the warrant of arrest issued by a regional court here, escaped during the dragnet.

However, Villanueva said that the suspect’s companions were arrested after the government agents noticed that some of them were armed in plain view.

Arrested were Ralfh M. Sarita, Julito M. Balogbog, Michael Dexter C. Andrada, Glerie C. Genson, and Jeffrey R. Silva, all of Kauswagan, a village North of the city.

Seized were one unit Cal .45 “Norinco” pistol with inserted fully loaded magazine with live ammos, one piece black holster, one piece broken, improvised glass tooter, one unit blue Ford Ranger pickup with plate number KGR-935, one piece heat sealed sachet believed containing shabu, one unit .380 pistols with fully loaded magazine and one piece magazine fully loaded with live .380 caliber ammunitions.

Villanueva said that the suspects would be charged with Obstruction of Justice, Illegal Possession of Firearms and Violation of the Election Gun Ban. PNA/northboundasia.com
