Gang Leader, 2 Henchmen Nabbed in Hideout

CAMP DIEGO SILANG, La Union Philippines – A leader of a robbery gang and two of his henchmen were arrested during a pot session in their hideout in Barangay Central West in Bauang town last Friday night.

The police raid on their hideout also yielded their robbery loot– 82 cellular phones, 10 assorted tablets, 11 wrist watches, four digital cameras, and four firearms of undetermined calibers.

Also recovered from the suspects were six sachets of the banned shabu and assorted drug paraphernalia.

Senior Superintendent Angeles Genorga Jr., regional chief of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group identified the suspects as Jeffrey Tudla, the leader of the group, and Nicky Jun Javier and
Glenford Belmonte.

“The victims of robbery are requested to visit the CIDG-La Union office and identify if they own the said items so that these can be rightfully returned to them and appropriate cases can be filed against
the suspects,” Genorga said.

The arrest of Tudla, Javier and Belmonte was a joint operation of CIDG and the La Union police while the search warrant was issued by Judge Romeo Perez of the Bauang Municipal Trial Court.

The suspects are now detained for violation of R.A.Act 9165 or the Dangerous Drugs Act and RA 1059, the law on illegal possession of firearms. Jun Elias/ northboundasia.com
