LAOAG CITY -– About 250 young boys are expected to benefit from the city government of Laoag free circumcision this summer.
Dr. Francis Manolito Dacuycuy, Chief of the Laoag City General Hospital (LCGH), said the “Kugit Bulilit” (children’s circumcision) is this year’s citywide program at the LCGH. Every year, they offer the free circumcision for young boys.
“Summer time is the best time for boys to have their circumcision, just in time for the wounds to heal before school time comes,” Dacuycuy said.
Though the exact date for this event is yet to be announced, Dacuycuy said it will be set on the first week of May.
Like in previous years, they are targeting about 250 beneficiaries to be served in May.
The program is in support of the Adolescents and Reproductive Health programs of the City Government.
The “Kugit Bulilit” will be a one day-affair that will cater to boys age four and above. Dacuycuy however noted that everybody is welcome to avail of the service regardless of age.
The LCGH in partnership with the City Health Office (CHO), Department of Public Safety (DPS) and Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC) also conduct minor surgery. PNA/northboundasia.com
