PARIS — French law enforcement agencies have carried out 168 searches nationwide overnight and arrested 23 people following the November 13 Paris attacks, French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said Monday.
Over 100 people have been placed under house arrest and 31 weapons confiscated, the minister was quoted as saying on the Internal Ministry Twitter account.
Late November 13, extremists coordinated attacks on several venues across Paris, killing at least 132 people and injuring over 350 at several locations, including restaurants, the Bataclan concert hall and in the vicinity of the Stade de France stadium.
The Islamic State (IS) militant group claimed responsibility for the attacks.
French President Francois Hollande called the terror attacks “an act of war” and declared a state of emergency, ordering the mobilization of extra servicemen to enforce security measures in the country. PNA/Sputnik
