
CAMP DIEGO SILANG, La Union – A former Agoo town village chair and Region One No. 5 most wanted person was arrested yesterday in Barangay Rafael Reuda, San Jose City, Nueva Ecija.
Senior Superintendent Angelito Dumangeng, La Union police director, identified the suspect as Leonardo Camat, former chairman of Barangay San Joaquin Sur in Agoo.

Camat was charged for at least 60 cases of estafa and for violation of Batas Pambansa 22 (anti-bouncing check law) before the Agoo Regional Trial Court Branch 32 under Judge Ethelwolda Jaravata, and before the Municipal Trial Court of Agoo under Judge Rhea Gallego.
Dumangeng said Camat went into hiding for several years until he was spotted by agents in Nueva Ecija. He was arrested by joint operatives of Provincial Intelligence Branch of La Union police, Agoo police station, Regional Intelligence Division, the 73rd Military Intelligence Company and San Jose City policemen.
The suspect was brought before the courts in Agoo for turn- over to the proper detention facility. No bail was recommended for his temporary liberty. JUN ELIAS/NorthboundPH
