Ex-Ilocos Village Chair Nabbed For Murder

SAN JUAN, La Union – A former barangay captain who was listed as the number five most wanted person of the province, was arrested by policemen in Barangay Ili Sur this town Wednesday afternoon.

Superintendent Joseph Fajardo, commander of the La Union provincial public safety company, who led the arresting team from the provincial intelligence branch and San Juan police, identified the suspect as Elmer Ordanza, 46, a resident and former chairman of Baracbac Este, in neighboring Balaoan.

Ordanza went into hiding after he allegedly killed a certain Arnold Navalta during a wedding party in said village. Ordanza’s son Aldrin Kenneth was also implicated in the killing was earlier arrested but posted bail.

An informant told the police of Ordanza’s presence in his village and immediately dispatched the arresting officers.

Ordanza, now detained, was arrested based on a warrant issued last December by Judge Manuel Aquino of the Regional Trial Court Branch 34 in Balaoan. Jun Elias/NPN-northboundasia.com
