Electric coops, companies in Central Luzon to help restore electricity in typhoon-hit Cagayan, Isabela provinces

TALAVERA, Nueva Ecija — Electric cooperatives and companies in Central Luzon on Wednesday sent equipment and personnel to help restore electricity to some 300,000 households and consumers in the provinces of Cagayan and Isabela which were badly hit by super typhoon “Lawin.”

Called Task Force Kapatid, the augmentation forces from power cooperatives under Central Luzon Electric Cooperatives Association (CLECA), Inc. were provided with equipment and provisions during the send-off ceremonies at the Nueva Ecija Electric Cooperative (Neeco) II here.

Reynaldo Villanueva, CLECA president, identified the participating entities as Cabanatuan Electric Corp. (Celcor); Pampanga Elecrtic Cooperative (Pelco) I, II, and III; Pampanga Rural Electric Cooperative, Inc. (Presco); Peninsula Electric Cooperative (PENELCO), Neeco II Area 1; Neeco II Area 2; Tarlac Electric Cooperative (Tarelco); Tarlac Electric, Inc.; and Zambales Electric Cooperative (Zameco) I and II.

The Dagupan Electric Corporation (Decorp) in Pangasinan likewise joined the augmentation forces.

Villanueva said the augmentation forces will stay in Cagayan and Isabela until the electric services in the areas are fully restored. PNA-northboundasia.com
