Duterte’s SONA won’t exceed 50 minutes — Andanar

MANILA — President Rodrigo Duterte’s second State of the Nation Address (SONA) before the joint session of Congress on July 24 would not exceed 50 minutes, Malacañang said Friday.

According to Communications Secretary Martin Andanar, the President said: “he wanted his ‘written speech’ not to go beyond 40 or 50 minutes.”

“He wants it direct to the point. I’m estimating the final draft to be between 15 and 18 pages,” Andanar added.

Andanar said the President’s SONA will highlight the Duterte administration’s accomplishments in his first year in office and enumerate the upcoming programs of the government.

The Palace official said Duterte started rehearsing his SONA speech at around 7 p.m. Thursday inside the Presidential Guest House in Panacan, Davao City following his visit to government troops in Marawi City earlier in the day. Cielito Raganit/PNA-northboundasia.com
