DAGUPAN CITY — The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) provincial office is now conducting sampling, inspection and inventory of pneumatic tires imported by one importer from Pangasinan.
Pneumatic Tires are a mechanical device made of rubber, chemical, fabric, steel, and other materials, which when mounted on automotive wheels, provide the traction and becomes load-bearing upon inflation with air higher than atmospheric pressure.
DTI Pangasinan headed by its team leader Guillermo B. Avelino, together with Noel Abraham V. Gapuz and Danzen B. Imus, conducted sampling, inspection and inventory of imported pneumatic tires under Bill of Lading No. 790610008205 in the name of Josefino Trading.
The pneumatic tire samples will be forwarded to Philippine Geoanalytics, Inc., a Philippine Accreditation Bureau-accredited testing laboratory. All necessary test procedures will be performed to make sure that the imported pneumatic tires will conform with the Philippine standard or the PNS 25:1994.
DTI Provincial Director Peter O. Mangabat said that list of products under mandatory certification that will fall under the jurisdiction of DTI Pangasinan will be closely monitored.
As one of its mandates, the DTI conducts regular monthly monitoring and enforcement in the province of Pangasinan in order to regulate mandatory products for sale and protect the buying public. PNA/northboundasia.com
