TUGUEGARAO CITY — The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 2 is strictly monitoring the prices of Christmas products in all business establishments in the Cagayan Valley Region.
DTI-02 information officer Manilyn Ponce, on Tuesday said the department has dispatched its trade and industry officers and required them to report immediately to the office the business establishments who are not complying with the Suggested Retail Price (SRP) for proper action.
Ponce said the some of the products to be checked are gift items, food products and among others.
The DTI has trained the designated municipal trade and industry officers to effectively implement the department’s mandate, she added.
The DTi also posted in all strategic places, particularly in public markets the list of SRP of all groceries and supermarkets.
Ponce said warned erring business establishments to refrain from overpricing and or imposing unnecessary price increases to avoid being charged with penalties. PNA-northboundasia.com
