CAMP DANGWA, LA TRINIDAD, Benguet–Cordillera lawmen led by Police Chief Supt. Ulysses J. Abellera, Cordillera Regional Director, have been tested negative or free of metabolites and methamphetamine, both dangerous drugs, in their body systems after examinations conducted by the Regional Crime Laboratory Office of the Philippine National Police here.
The mandatory drug tests were made last May 30 according to the marching order of President-elect Rodrigo Duterte, the results of which were released on June 3.
“This is an indication that Cordillera cops prove their dedication and commitment to police service, to serve and protect the people of Cordillera,” Abellera said.
Abellera said that his command is not only conducting intelligence operations against civilians involved in wrong doings but also in a serious fight against erring policemen especially those involved in illegal drugs.
“We are now appealing to the public to support the government’s campaign to minimize if not eradicate the growing drug menace in the country,” he said. Thom Picana/ northboundasia.com
