Drug testing for Pangasinan police now 96% done, one found positive of drugs

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan — The drug testing for almost 2,000 police personnel of the Pangasinan police provincial office (PPPO) in all 48 police stations in the province is now almost 96 percent done.

Supt. Jackie Candelario, PPPO police information officer, said the four percent remaining untested are officers undergoing schooling.

Meanwhile, one personnel was found positive of drugs in a test conducted by the Pangasinan provincial crime laboratory. The identity of the policeman remains undisclosed since a confirmatory test is yet to be done.

Candelario said another test will be conducted to confirm the previous test.

“It will be confirmed whether that police might be using a medication or supplementary medication which might have affected the result of the drug test,” Candelario said.

He added, “Since the random drug test does not include such data gathering on the subjected police for testing.”

Candelario said the result of the drug test is a good indicator that the Pangasinan police are clean from illegal drugs.

“This is part of our internal cleansing,” said Candelario. PNA/northboundasia.com
