BAGUIO CITY — Joint personnel from the Baguio City Police Office and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Cordillera (PDEA-CAR) seized a total of 105 grams of shabu worth more that PHP500,000 in an operation Friday.
In an information provided by PDEA-CAR information officer Joseph Frederick Calulut on Saturday, the shabu was confiscated in a raid at Purok 7, Asin Road, Irisan Friday afternoon.
Brian Leonille Valdes Dris, 30, an English language teacher, and resident of Asin Road was nabbed after selling the illegal drugs to an undercover agent inside his apartment.
Calulut said authorities also chanced upon Aaron Paul de Guzman Vergara, 26, a resident of BGH Compound, and his 23-year-old woman companion having a pot session inside the residence of the suspect.
The law enforcers also confiscated two more heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, a plastic sachet containing suspected dried marijuana leaves, several drug paraphernalia and the buy-bust money.
Calulut said the confiscated illegal drugs is the biggest haul for this year in Baguio City.
With the successful operation, the drug enforcers were able to remove from the streets PHP525,000 worth of shabu that could have been distributed in the city.
The suspects will be facing charges for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Section 11, Section 12 (Possession of Drug Paraphernalia) and Section 15 (Use of Dangerous Drugs), with Section 5 being a non-bailable offense. PNA-northboundasia.com
