BAGUIO CITY -– The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency – Cordillera Regional Office (PDEA-CAR) with the La Trinidad Municipal Police Office (LTMPO) and the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) arrested illegal drug personalities in a series of buy-bust operations over the weekend.
PDEA-CAR information officer Joseph Calulut on Monday, identified the suspects as Rashid Amito Lazim a.k.a. Alex, 41, married, vendor, native of Marawi City and a resident of Buyagan, La Trinidad, Benguet who was arrested on Saturday, September 10 at his residence after selling three heat-sealed sachets of suspected “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride), weighing more or less 15 grams, to a poseur buyer agent of PDEA-CAR.
Confiscated from Lazim were the buy-bust money worth PhP30,000 and a mobile phone.
On September 11, Abdullah Lumano Mangoranca, 33, married, also a native of Marawi City and a resident of Barangay Central Fairview, Baguio City was apprehended at his residence after selling three heat-sealed sachets containing suspected shabu to another poseur-buyer PDEA-CAR agent.
Mangoranca was tagged as the leader of a drug group operating in Baguio City and La Trinidad, Benguet.
Seized from Mangoranca were the three sachets of shabu, the buy-bust money amounting to PhP4,000, 12 more heat-sealed sachets containing shabu and a brown sling pouch.
The 15 sachets of shabu confiscated from Mangoranca weighs about 42.92 grams and valued at PhP215,673.
Calulut said that on September 9, Jeremiah Jay Nodalo Abata, a.k.a. Jeremiah and Jacko was apprehended in Suello Village, Barangay Bakakeng Central in Baguio City after he sold a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu to a PDEA-CAR agent.
Confiscated from Abata included the marked money worth PhP8,000 and a black mobile phone.
Lazim, Mangoranca and Abata are now temporarily detained at the PDEA-CAR Regional Office Jail Facility pending the filing of cases for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165 before the proper authorities.
