STA. BARBARA, Pangasinan — Lawmen neutralized a drug den in Barangay Minien West in Sta. Barbara where they also arrested its six operators, all of whom are high-value targets (HVTs ) on illegal drugs, at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 7.
The operation was jointly conducted by elements of a special unit of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Pangasinan and the Sta. Barbara police.
Arrested during the operation were Cherry Ann Corpuz, Christopher Galsim, Rommel Reyes, Mark Arzil Garcia, Mary Ann Laungayan and one Angelito Vicente, all of Sta. Barbara town.
Confiscated from them were six heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be “shabu” or methamphetamine hydrochloride, more or less 25 grams, valued at Php 500; one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected marijuana, more or less .03 gram, three improvised glass tooters, three scissors, three distorted lighters, three improvised straw scoop, one improvised needle, three improvised bamboo clippers, one pack of unused plastic sachet, and one plastic bottle containing 10 rolled aluminum foil strips.
Also seized were one Skydrive Suzuki motorcycle, three Nokia and one 1 Samsung cellphones, the buy-bust money of Php 1,000, and boodle money.
Suspects are now facing cases for violation of Section 5, 6, 7, 11 Section 12 & 15 of Article 2, of Republic 9165. All these cases are unbailable.
Meanwhile, a newly emerged drug personality was arrested in a separate buy-bust operation by the police, in coordination with PDEA, at 3:50 p.m. on March 7 in Barangay Tampa, Aguilar,
The suspect was identified as Edwin dela Cruz Henry, a farmer, of Barangay Bayaoas, Aguilar.
Seized from the suspect were one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline granules suspected to be shabu; and Php 500 peso bill used as marked money and one motorcycle without a plate number.
In San Fabian, one more drug pusher was arrested in another buy-bust operation by the police in coordination with the PDEA at 11:50 a.m. Tuesday in Barangay Nibaliw West, San Fabian.
The suspect was identified as Marforie Ellarma, alias “Boy”, 40. who sold one transparent heat-sealed plastic sachet containing suspected shabu to an under-cover police officer who acted as poseur-buyer in exchange for P300 marked money. Leonardo Micua/PNA-northboundasia.com
